Messier 109 (juga dikenal sebagai NGC 3992) adalah sebuah galaksi spiral berpalang yang memamerkan struktur cincin dalam yang lemah di sekitar central bar sekitar 83.5 ± 24 juta tahun cahaya[3] jauhnya di konstelasi Ursa Major. M109 dapat dilihat di sebelah tenggara bintang Phecda (γ UMa).

Lingkungan

M109 merupakan galaksi yang paling terang di Grup M109, sebuah kelompok galaksi yang terletak di konstelasi Ursa Major yang mungkin mengandung lebih dari 50 galaksi.[4][5][6][7]
