SIMBAD
SIMBAD (the Set of Identifications, Measurements, and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) adalah sebuah pusat data benda astronomi di luar tata surya. Dikelola oleh Centre de Données astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS), Prancis.
SIMBAD dibentuk oleh penggabungan Catalog of Stellar Identifications (CSI) dan Bibliographic Star Index yang masuk dalam Meudon Computer Centre hingga 1979, dan kemudian diperluas dengan data sumber tambahan dari katalog dan sastra akademis lain. Versi interaktif daring pertama, dikenal sebagai Version 2, dikeluarkan tahun 1981. Version 3, dibuat dengan bahasa C dan beroperasi pada stasiun UNIX di Strasbourg Observatory, dirilis tahun 1990. Musim gugur 2006, dirilis Version 4 pusat data ini, sekarang disimpan dalam PostgreSQL, dan perangkat lunak pendukung, yang dibuat seluruhnya dalam bahasa Java.
Pada 14 Juni 2007, SIMBAD berisi informasi untuk 3.824.195 benda dalam 11.200.785 nama yang berbeda, dengan 209.451 rujukan bibliografis dan 5.455.841 kutipan bibliografis.
Sebuah asteroid, 4692 SIMBAD (1983 VM7) diberi nama sesuai nama pusat data ini.
