Messier 86 (juga dikenal sebagai M86 atau NGC 4406) merupakan sebuah galaksi eliptis atau galaksi lenticular yang berada di konstelasi Virgo. Objek ini ditemukan oleh Charles Messier pada tahun 1781. M86 terletak di jantung gugus Virgo dan membentuk kelompok yang paling mencolok dengan galaksi besar lainnya yang dikenal sebagai Messier 84. Objek ini menampilkan biru pergeseran tertinggi dari semua objek Messier, karena mendekati bima Sakti dengan kecepatan 244 km/detik.[3]
