Dana Stabenow (Anchorage, 27 marzo 1952) è una scrittrice statunitense.

Dana Stabenow nasce nel 1952 ad Anchorage, in Alaska, da padre pilota e madre contabile e assistente del personale di terra^[1].

Cresciuta in un peschereccio nel golfo dell'Alaska, si laurea alla Seldovia High School nel 1969, prima d'ottenere un Bachelor of Arts in giornalismo all'Università dell'Alaska nel 1973 e un Master of Fine Arts nel 1985 presso l'università della città natale^[2].

Esordisce nel 1991 con i fantascientifici Second Star e A Handful of Stars che passano inosservati, mentre raggiunge il successo virando al giallo con il romanzo CSI Alaska: il silenzio della neve vincitore di un Edgar Award nel quale introduce la detective Kate Shugak protagonista di altre 20 avventure^[3].

Autrice anche di romanzi storici ambientati nel XIV secolo, nel 2012 ha ricevuto il Premio Nero Wolfe con Though Not Dead ^[4].
