Macroplata (berarti "lempeng besar") adalah sebuah genus plesiosauria rhomaleosauridae Jura Awal punah yang tumbuh hingga panjang 4,65 meter (15,3 ft). Seperti plesiosauria lainnya, Macroplata barangkali memakan ikan, menggunakan gigi mirip durinya yang panjang untuk menangkap mangsa. Tulang lehernya cukup besar, mengindikasikan gerakan ke depan yang kuat, memungkinkannya untuk berenang dengan cepat. Genus ini juga memiliki leher yang relatif panjang, dua kali lipat panjang tengkoraknya. Macroplata diketahui dari sebuah rangka hampir lengkap NHMUK PV R 5488 (sebelumnya BMNH R 5488) dari Formasi Blue Lias (Hettangium) di Harbury, Warwickshire, Britania Raya.[1]

Sebuah spesies lainnya, Macroplata longirostris (sebelumnya Plesiosaurus longirostris), yang hidup belakangan, pada tahap Toarkium, juga termasuk dalam genus ini; namun pada 2011, Benson dkk. mengklasifikasikan ulang spesies tersebut sebagai sejenis pliosaurid dalam genus Hauffiosaurus, H. longirostris.[2]
