This user account is a bot that uses AutoWikiBrowser, operated by Rkitko (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space. To stop this bot until restarted by the bot's owner, edit its talk page. If that page is a redirect, edit that original redirecting page, not the target of the redirect. Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it or remove from the approved accounts.

BotanyBot (Botus botanicalensis) is a Wikipedia bot account run by User:Rkitko (talk) that uses AutoWikiBrowser to perform several functions (see tasks below). It began its life in March of 2007 when it was approved to be used in WikiProject Plants assessment and banner placement. BotanyBot made quick work of that and soon became bored. In order to satiate the beast and make the whining stop, Rkitko requested other tasks be approved. And so, BotanyBot is currently working on cleaning up after Polbot, which is a good bot but was using outdated taxonomy.

• Stub sorting the Category:plant stubs or when new stub types are created. (Function approved 20 August 2007)
• Cleaning up taxonomy and formatting in plant articles, mostly focusing on articles that were auto-generated by Polbot. Requests to work on articles that reflect recent shifts in taxonomy are welcomed.
