Proiphys adalah genus tumbuhan terna, menahun dan berumbi lapis dalam keluarga Amaryllidaceae, subfamili Amaryllidoideae.[9] Di dalamnya mencakup 5 spesies yang diterima.[10] Genus ini berasal dari Asia Tenggara, Papuasia, dan Australia.[11]

Dikarenakan bunga dan daunnyanyamg menarik menjadikan tanaman ini cocok untuk dijadikan subjek taman, namun tidak dibudidayakan secara luas sebagai tanaman hias.[11]
