Procapra adalah genus gazel Asia,[2] yang mencakup tiga spesies yang masih hidup:

Fosil-fosil tertua dari genus ini berasal dari Pliosen akhir atau awal Pleistosen di Asia tengah, saat iklimnya lebih basah dan tidak hangat ketimbang kini. Genus ini tampaknya berevolusi dari hewan-hewan yang mirip dengan jenis gazel Pliosen Gazella sinensis,[3] dan diketahui bahwa hewan ini sebelumnya diburu oleh manusia Neolitikum awal di Danau Qinghai, Tiongkok.[4]
