Peredaman


Dalam fisika, peredaman adalah efek apapun yang mengurangi energi dalam suatu sistem osilasi melalui disipasi.[1][2] Pengurangan energi ini mengurangi amplitudo getaran sistem tersebut.[3]
Dalam mekanika, gaya gesek internal dapat menjadi salah satu penyebab efek pengurangan energi tersebut. Bagi banyak sebab, gaya peredam Ff dapat dimodelkan sebagai sebanding dengan kecepatan v dari suatu objek:
