Obelia adalah genus di kelas Hydrozoa, yang terdiri dari spesies hewan yang terutama hidup di laut dan beberapa di air tawar dan memiliki baik tahapan polip dan medusa dalam siklus hidupnya. Genus ini berada dalam filum Cnidaria, yang semuanya akuatik dan terutama hidup di laut yang strukturnya relatif sederhana.

Habitat

Obelia memiliki distribusi di seluruh dunia kecuali laut high-arctic dan Antarktika.[1] Tahap medusa spesies Obelia umum dalam plankton di pesisir dan lepas pantai di seluruh dunia.[2] Obelia biasanya ditemukan tidak lebih dari 200 meter (660 ft) dari permukaan air, tumbuh di kolam batu intertidal dan pada air rendah ekstrem pada pasang musim semi.
