Lavra

Lavra atau laura (bahasa Yunani: λαύρα; Sirilik: ла́вра) adalah jenis biara yang terdiri dari sekelompok sel atau gua untuk pertapa, dengan gereja dan terkadang ruang makan di tengahnya. Biara Lavra beroperasi dalam tradisi Ortodoks dan Kristen Timur lainnya; nama tersebut juga digunakan oleh beberapa komunitas Katolik.[1][2] Istilah ini dalam bahasa Yunani awalnya berarti jalan sempit atau gang di kota..[3][4]
