LARC-LX


LARC-LX (Lighter, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo, 60 ton)/ BARC (Barge, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo) adalah kendaraan cargo amfibi dengan hull yang terbuat dari besi, selain dapat berenang, karena dilengkapi 4 roda, LARC-LX juga dapat berjalan di darat secara terbatas asalkan tanahnya dapat menopang bobot tubuhnya.

Kendaraan ini dapat membawa lebih dari 100 ton kargo atau 200 orang, tapi yang lebih sering diangkut merupakan kargo seberat 60 ton ato 120 orang. LARC-LX digunakan untuk mengangkut wheeled dan tracked vehicles dari kapal ke pantai atau ke titik pendaratan di darat. LARCS pertama kali melakukan tugas aktif saat dikerahkan ke Vietnam pada tahun 1967 untuk mendukung 101st Airborne Division, dan pada 1968 untuk 1st Cavalry Division.

LARC-LX bertinggi 6 meter, dengan roda setinggi 2 meter. Berat mobil ini mencapai 194000 pounds, atau sekitar 8000-an kilogram.
