Kleon

Kleon (/ˈkliːɒn, -ən/; bahasa Yunani: Κλέων, Yunani Kuno: [kléɔːn]; wafat 422 SM) adalah seorang jenderal Athena selama perang Peloponnesos. Dia adalah perwakilan terkemuka pertama dari kelas niaga dalam politik Athena, meskipun dia sendiri adalah seorang aristokrat. Dia sangat menganjurkan strategi perang ofensif dan dikenang karena kekejamannya dalam menjalankan kebijakannya. Dia sering digambarkan sebagai tokoh jahat, terutama oleh Thukidides dan penulis drama komedi Aristofanes, yang keduanya mewakili dia sebagai penghasut perang yang tidak bermoral.

Kleon adalah putra Cleaenetus.[1]
