Kirkia adalah genus tumbuhan dalam famili Kirkiaceae.[1] Genus ini sebelumnya ditempatkan dalam famili Simaroubaceae, namun dipindahkan ke Kirkiaceae, bersama dengan Pleiokirkia, karena genus-genus ini tidak menghasilkan kuassinoid maupun limonoid.

Nama genus Kirkia diambil untuk menghormati Sir John Kirk, GCMG, KCB, FRS (1832–1922), yang merupakan seorang dokter, naturalis, rekan penjelajah David Livingstone, dan administrator Inggris di Zanzibar.[2]
