Gustave Charpentier merupakan seorang komponis Prancis yang paling dikenal akan operanya Louise.[1], ia lahir di Dieuze (departemen Meurthe[2]) pada 25 Juni 1860 dan meninggal di Paris pada 18 Februari 1956. Dia menerima penghargaan Légion d'honneur pada 1900, menjadi Commandeur pada 1930 dan Grand officier pada 1950.[3]
