Gottschee

Gottschee (bahasa Slovenia: Kočevsko) adalah istilah yang mengacu kepada sebuah wilayah di Karniola yang pernah dihuni oleh orang-orang yang menuturkan bahasa Jerman. Sepanjang sejarahnya, wilayah ini pernah menjadi Grafschaft, kadipaten, distrik dan munisipalitas. Saat ini wilayah Gottschee kurang lebih sama dengan wilayah Munisipalitas Kočevje. Orang-orang Jerman yang pernah tinggal di wilayah ini disebut "Orang Jerman Gottschee"[1][2] atau Gottscheer,[3] dan dialek bahasa Jerman mereka disebut bahasa Jerman Gottschee[4] atau Gottscheerisch.[5] Sebagian besar orang Gottschee dipindah paksa dari tempat tinggal mereka selama Perang Dunia II atas keinginan Hitler karena Gottschee berada di zona pendudukan Italia.
