Fonem

Fonem (serapan dari bahasa Belanda: foneem) sebuah istilah linguistik dalam sebuah bahasa yang masih bisa menunjukkan perbedaan makna. Fonem berbentuk bunyi.

Misalkan dalam bahasa Indonesia bunyi [k] dan [g] merupakan dua fonem yang berbeda, misalkan dalam kata "cagar" dan "cakar". Namun, dalam bahasa Arab hal ini tidaklah begitu. Dalam bahasa Arab hanya ada fonem /k/.
