Bootleg

Sampul album Great White Wonder, yang secara luas dianggap sebagai album bootleg rock pertama yang dirilis secara komersial.

Bootleg adalah rekaman artis musik yang tidak dirilis secara resmi lewat suatu perusahaan rekaman. Biasanya rekaman ini diambil dari pertunjukan konser dengan sebuah alat perekam ringkas yang kemudian diolah dan ditransfer ke bentuk CD. Bootleg juga bisa berasal dari pita rekaman yang dicuri dari studio atau demo yang seharusnya tidak disebarluaskan. Beberapa band seperti Phish dan Grateful Dead memperbolehkan praktik bootleg dengan syarat rekaman itu tidak dijual, melainkan digandakan secara cuma-cuma.
