Sel MIN-6 adalah salah satu sub-kultur sel beta, yang merupakan sel kanker jenis insulinoma,[1] yang mensekresi hormon insulin sebagai respon terhadap kenaikan konsentrasi gula darah.[2]
Seperti yang terjadi pada sel beta, hormon ACTH juga meningkatkan sekresi hormon insulin dari sel MIN-6 melalui pencerap melanokortin-2 (MCR-2) yang terdapat pada permukaan sel.[3]
