Tentara Jepang menduduki Pulau Natal pada tanggal 31 Maret 1942 selama Perang Dunia II. Akibat pemberontakan tentara India terhadap perwira Britania Raya, tentara Jepang dapat menduduki Pulau Natal tanpa perlawanan. Namun, kapal selam Amerika Serikat Seawolf menyebabkan kerusakan terhadap kapal penjelajah ringan Jepang, Naka.
