Edit reversal

The reasons I reverted your recent edit are... 1/ See WP:LEAD. The lead is meant to be a summary of the article (or is in the article, but is not too important). That generally means we should not add detail that is nowhere else in the article; and it generally also means there is no need for a source in the lead because the source is in the body of the article. 2/ See WP:BALANCE. The article should be as balanced as possible by not giving too much weight/attention to relatively minor points. Russell being a hell hole is a minor point that if anywhere should be in the body, not the lead. It is trivia, not encyclopedic. 3/ Of more use would be for you to look into why someone called Russell a hell hole way back pre-1840, because that reason is what is more relevant. Answer - Because there was then no authority or control over the European/American people who were living there, who were mainly a bunch of low-character people anyway. That was a primary reason why Britain extended the boundaries of NSW in 1839, a British colony, to include NZ - it meant UK law applied in NZ, including in Russell, when previously it had not. (And then declaring sovereignty specifically over NZ in 1841) To be further clear, that meant the bad guys could be arrested and brought to justice when previously they could not be - hence Russell was a 'hell hole').
