Vietnamese Boyz also known as VBZ or V-Boyz is a Vietnamese Gang in the San Gabriel Valley. Before Saigon fell in 1975 a major distinct wave of Southeast Asian immigrants. The first which comprised of older and more educated came in first and somewhat familiar with the American culture. After the fall of Saigon, a tremendous second wave poured in, many of whom were young and less educated than their predecessors.Among them were criminals who formed groups to prey on the wealthier and more established immigrants from the first wave. In Vietnam, these criminals were involved in extortion, drug trafficking, prostitution and gambling. After emigrating to the United States, they continued these activities, preying on Asian immigrants, Asian-Americans and Asian businesses. New immigrants were particularly vulnerable to crime because they were reluctant to go to the police. In their homeland, the police were frequently agents of oppressive political regimes and not to be trusted. From the immigrants formed many gangs, including the Vietnamese Boyz Gang. Till this day, VBZ is considered one of most dangerous gangs in SGV. The Wah Ching Gang is their main rival, constantly fighting over territories and gang influence around the San Gabriel Valley. Other rivals are the Tiny Raskal Gang, Akro Pinoy (AKP), Bahalana Gang (BNG) and Tau Gamma Pinoy (TGP). The Asian Boyz Gang is their main ally. The number 22 or 2202 stands for VBZ. 22 is the V, since it is the 22nd letter of the alphabet and 02 stands for B, since it is the 2nd of the alphabet. They distinguish themselves with the black rag and black clothing. The cliques in VBZ are (listed by most activities): Westside, Southside, ZodiacSide, Tiny V Boyz and Eastside
