27 August 2012 - It's been quite a few years since I wrote the original user page you see below. Many things have changed in the world and in our lives since then. I still visit Wikipedia almost daily. I find myself researching one thing or another while online. I am so grateful that Wikipedia is here and that it still has that dedicated group of staff and contributors banging out all this data for the world to see and utilize. You are building for the future. Keep up the great work! ~Eric
22 August, 2011 - Wow! Time flies. I'm just a few weeks shy of 50 years old now. I still love Wikipedia and wish I had the time and sticktoitiveness to come here more often and participate. I do still use the site as a reference almost daily. Thanks, Wikifolks, for ALL you do. ~Eric
15 August, 2008 - Yes, I'm still around. I still come here almost daily. However, I don't contribute much. I've never really studied exactly how things work around here. One of these days I would like to contribute more, though. Thanks for a wonderful resource! ~Eric

Greetings!
I've never been any good at these little auto-biographical pieces, so bear with me. I'm new here at Wikipedia. I was alerted to the existence of this place by a wise friend who comes here often to research. I've been perusing and snooping around here for about a week or two now and I find myself becoming strangely enamored with the unique idea of a user created/maintained online encyclopedia. I think it's neat as hell, actually.
I'm 44 years old and live in Tampa, Florida, USA. I have many and varied interests and hobbies... anything from literature, history, and philosophy to mechanics, electronics, and motorcycle riding. I hope to use some of my wide-ranging experience and knowledge as a basis for contributions here at Wikipedia.
