Abia State Senior Science School Ihie (ASSSSI) was established by the Abia State government, after the creation of Abia State from former Imo State by the administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. ASSSI is located at Ihie in Isialangwa North L.G.A of Abia State, Nigeria. It was the first senior science school established by the Abia State government.

The school is modeled after the American K-12 system with only Senior Secondary education classes (High School) offered. Abia State Senior Science School Ihie is well known in Eastern Nigeria for producing some of the smartest set of aspiring Nigerian Engineers and Scientists. The rigorous academic curriculum of the school makes it possible for students to complete their studies before the senior year and move on to college level (University level) studies. The school was one of the first high schools in Nigeria to include Computer Science and Programming in its curriculum.

Since the establishment of the School in 1992, it has graduated students who pursued higher education in Engineering, Science, Medicine, Education and Business. Some of the alumni of ASSSSI have gone on to work for Multinational companies like Intel Corporation, Boeing, Exxon Mobil, Chevron and BP.
