The Inkblot

The Inkblot is the independent student newspaper of Communications High School in Wall, New Jersey. The Inkblot is a member of the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA), the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA), the Garden State Scholastic Press Association (GSSPA) and the National Quill and Scroll Society. The newspaper is published by the students, for the students. The Inkblot has both print and online components. The paper prints every six weeks for a total of six issues per school year.

Awards

In 2014, managing editor Tyler Paley received the Bob Stevens Memorial Scholarship from the New Jersey Press Foundation and GSSPA. Paley is the second editor from Communications High School to win this state award.

In 2013, adviser Andi Mulshine won the Gold Key Award from CSPA, one of the highest honors for a high school journalism teacher.

In 2013, media editor Michael DeSocio won second place nationally for Single Sports Photograph from CSPA.

In 2013, managing editor Tyler Paley won third place nationally for Page One Design from CSPA.

In 2013, The Inkblot won the Overall Excellence Award and New Jersey High School Distinguished Journalism Award from GSSPA.

In 2010, The Inkblot won the International First Place Award for Overall Excellence from the Quill & Scroll Society.

In 2010 and 2009, The Inkblot won the GSSPA Distinguished Journalism award.

In 2010, The Inkblot won the Award for Best Investigative Feature from CSPA.
