Thea Mitchell (born 8 July, 1969) is a Canadian Makeup Artist and Entrepreneur. Best known for specializing in Beauty Makeup, Thea has worked in media, editorial, sales and education, all within the makeup genre. Most recently, she is the founder of Cocoa Bloom [1], a vibrant, interactive learning environment for makeup enthusiasts and fashion lovers. The studio, located in downtown Toronto hosts ongoing workshops on beauty & fashion led by the city's top tier makeup artists and industry leaders.
Life and Career
Thea began working in the media industry in the late nineties as a key makeup artist on set and expanded her career into various genres of the beauty field by the mid-2000s. Her eclectic career has spanned more than 15 years and has included working with a cross-section of celebrities and entertainers.

'Notable Career Milestones
Though known for a career based primarily in television, Thea has enjoyed a multi-faceted journey in her career. One highlight includes touring Europe as Key Makeup/Hair for Grammy winner Jill Scott in 2000 promoting her album, "Who is Jill Scott?"
In 2003, Thea was the Makeup Director for Team Contessa at the Contessa Awards. Working with a team of 15 makeup artists, more than 80 models adorned looks that paid homage to great artists of the 20th century (including: Warhol, Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet and Kahlo);
After recognizing a need for quality cosmetics targeting women of color, Thea started deadSEXY! Cosmetics in 2005, an online cosmetic retail business. It achieved a cult-like following that earned her a featured article in FASHION magazine (April 2009) and a sought after on-air expert for beauty (including regular appearances on The Steven & Chris Show [http;//www.cbc.ca/stevenandchris/2009/05/brighten-up-tired-eyes.html], and FASHION's web series -[2]). Thea closed the business in 2010 to explore other entrepreneurial opportunities, and has since launched Cocoa Bloom Cosmetics in 2012.
Thea was awarded "The Teacher of Excellence Award" in 2009, from Centennial College for her outstanding work in teaching aspiring artists through the college's Makeup Artistry Program.
Personal Life
Thea has lived happily with her second husband for over 10 years, and resides with both he and her three children in Toronto, Canada.
