Hey there! I'm known around here as TechnoSquirrel69. I'm a musician of various kinds, a rock climber, an amateur hiker, and a terminal epistemophile. I may also edit Wikipedia on occasion. The following page is an entirely unbiased and not-at-all-self-indulgent summary of my contributions to this project.
I created this account in January 2021 and wrote a couple small articles, but only became an active editor in March 2023. I have to thank a random teenager sitting in the row in front of me at a presentation I was at a few months prior, who unknowingly became the impetus for my return to editing by completely ignoring the speaker and furiously browsing through articles on their laptop instead. Since then, I've maintained an ever-evolving balance between writing the encyclopedia and performing behind-the-scenes "gnome work".
My contributions
To the encyclopedia
I consider some of my best work to be the writing I've done on Studio Ghibli–related articles, most notably
Princess Mononoke,
Castle in the Sky, and
List of accolades received by The Boy and the Heron.[a] I've worked on several articles about music, including
Nurture (album) and the
Worlds series.[b] I've written about the occasional book, such as
Miyazakiworld or
The Snow Queen (Kernaghan novel). Or, as is my wont, a surprising topic like
Frutiger Aero or the
Capitol Hill mystery soda machine could catch my attention!
I try to mirror my writing work with reviews of other editors' quality content, and I have provided 61 article reviews of various kinds to date. See my logs for featured content candidates, good article nominees, Did you know nominations, and peer reviews.
To the "back end"
I put on a diverse collection of hats when working behind the scenes. These days, I like to work on keeping Did you know's queues chugging along, reviewing at Articles for creation and, relatedly, participating at new pages patrol. I'm currently serving as a coordinator for the Developing Countries WikiContest.[c] I also enjoy a round of closing threads at redirects for discussion on occasion. I have previously worked on counter-vandalism and fixing links to disambiguation pages.
In the real world, I organize Wikipedia meetups in my home city. See my event log.

Notes
- ^ I've been passionate about this topic since the beginning of my editing journey and will likely continue to write about it until I retire or I achieve my ultimate goal of promoting every major article covered by the Studio Ghibli task force to good article or featured status.
- ^ In collaboration with Skyshifter.
- ^ In collaboration with Arconning and sawyer777, and previously with Ixtal.
As if that wasn't enough...
