Greg Schroeder(1984-Present)
Early Life
Greg Schroeder was born April 16th, 1984 in Hazelwood, Missouri. One of a family of fourteen Greg falls third in the birth order. His early life was unremarkable with work since the age of thirteen taking up most of his time. He was homeschooled all throughout middle school and high school by his mother. At age thirteen he moved to Saint Peters, Missouri, which is where he first began playing soccer. He first caught the attention of coaches playing in an intramural league as goalkeeper for the SLUH team. From then on his main position was goalkeeper. Following the death of his little sister, Teresa Rose, on March 17th, 1997 Greg used the numbers 17 or 13 throughout his playing career. The number 17 standing for Teresa's birthdate and 13 signifying her birth order in the family.
College Career
After playing on numerous soccer clubs in high school Schroeder acepted a scholarship from Lindenwood University in 2003. Greg's college career initially showed a lot of promise was severely hampered by knee injuries. However, success followed off the field as he maintained a 3.5+ GPA throughout college and recieved a Bachelor of the Arts degree in History and Education in 2007. However, in the semester before he graduated Schroeder and a friend were almost kicked out of college for a fight involving his roommate. Schroeder's friend,John Torres who did not join in on the altercation, insisted that he acted in self defense. The university did not take action.
Present Day
Today Greg coaches soccer and Francis Howell High School as the Assistant Varsity coach for the Men's Soccer program and continues to play soccer.
