About Þórarinn Torfi

Þórarinn Torfi Finnbogason (born October 12, 1976) is an Icelandic musician, teacher, and artist. He grew up in West Iceland, moved to Akureyri, then to Norway, back to Akureyri, and finally returned to West Iceland. He currently resides in Hvanneyri, Borgarfjörður.

Education and Career

Þórarinn studied mechanical engineering at Slippstöðin in Akureyri and house painting under his father-in-law. He is a certified machinist, master painter, and teacher. He currently works as a woodworking teacher in an elementary school.

He has worked in various fields, including mentoring in painting and carpentry. Additionally, he has been active in music and artistic creation throughout his career.

Music

Þórarinn has been a part of the Icelandic music scene for decades, playing in several forgetable bands such as Happaþrennan, PLP, Siggi Blómkvist and the Purple Gang, Tapulrasa and more. He is now working on his own music project, which he calls Torfevas—an anagram of the names Eva and Torfi.
