Introduction

My name is Stuart Leeming, born in 1988 (hence the sleeming88) in York. I technically still live there but am currently living in Middlesbrough where I am at University studying Media Studies with History.

Hobbies and Interests

A mixture of the usual things plus the odd eyebrow-raiser. I think my hobbies and interests could best be summed up like this...

  • Music
  • Football
  • History
  • Railways
  • Drawing
  • Old BBC sitcoms
  • Socialising
  • A pint or two

As far as music and football go, it i safe to say that I am much better at being a watcher/listener than a participant. I own a bass guitar but at the moment my ability to actually play it makes Sid Vicious appear to have been vaguely competent as a musucian. The same goes with football. Five minutes of watching me play and Ali Dia suddenly does not seem so bad. My biggest real interest, however, is history. I now have a pretty much total knowledge of most of the main bits of history (which is largely thanks to Wikipedia. Hope there were no dodgy edits in those articles!) but recently I have become increasingly interested in the history of railways in the UK, especially the events surrounding the Beeching Cuts. I spent most of my life living in the village of Stockton-on-the-Forest where, until 1965, the York to Beverley railway line passed by. York to Beverley Line was the first Wikipedia article that I created from scratch and I hope to create more railway articles in the future and hopefully add some useful things to yours.
