Raju Raphael is a distinguished Media Trainer and accomplished Documentary Filmmaker with a wealth of experience spanning three decades in the media industry. He has held prestigious positions such as the Former Director of the Kerala Press Academy and served as a founding member of the Asianet News team. Raju's remarkable career is marked by significant achievements, including being the first Indian to receive the esteemed Reuter Fellowship in Television Journalism. In 2000, he pursued advanced training in television news production at the Reuters Thomson Foundation in London. Furthermore, he was granted International Journalism Fellowship by the Netherlands Development Agency, leading him to complete a journalism teachers' training program at the Radio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC) in Amsterdam in 2010. Before his 16 years stint with Asianet News, Raju Raphael had worked as a reporter/ sub-editor with English dailies "The Hindu" and "Indian Communicator," over a span of four years. With a prolific portfolio, Raju has directed and produced over 100 documentary films, in different languages including German and English. Currently, Raju Raphael holds the role of Director of Communications at the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies in Kochi. His professional expertise extends to designing and implementing journalism courses, developing curriculum and syllabi, as well as creating learning materials for aspiring journalists and science communicators
