Boardwalk Empire

Boardwalk Empire is an American TV show created by Terrence Winter who did also the Sopranos. This TV show is based on the novel Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times And The Corruption in Atlantic City from Nelson Johnson. This show started on HBO on September 19,2010.The show has now three seasons for a total of 36 episodes and there about to be another one that will be under way in the second half of 2013. The producer is Mark Walhberg who produces also the TV show Entourage. The principal aspects of this show are the first boardwalk in Atlantic City and the raise to power of legendary notorious gangsters like Al Capone, Lucky Luciano and Nucky Johnson who in this is called Nucky Thompson and main character of the show. The first episode was produced for the great cost of 18 millions dollars. This TV shows has won 12 Emmy’s awards and was nominated for 30 of them. Boardwalk Empire has also won the Golden Globe Award for best TV series in the drama section. This TV series was classed in the top 30 to have ever played on national TV. Some of the events of this show have a historical meaning like the Valentine Day massacre for example.

Pilot: the story takes place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, during the prohibition era in the 20s. The story is about the main character Nucky Thompson who is a political figure and controlled a big part of Atlantic City during the 20s to 30s. Nucky has one younger brother name Ely who is also the sheriff of the place. During the first episode we can see that alcohol is declared illegal. So, Nucky goes to bootlegging and saw profit and a big opportunity in there. He dealt with corrupted politicians and mobsters from Chicago like Johny Torrio (Al Capone mentor) and Arnold Rothstein, is known for being a big gambler and New York kingpin. He also took a young Jimmy Darmody, a young first worldwide war hero under his wings seeing the potential in him. Nucky will have to deal with Nelson Van Halden, a prohibition agent who watched his every move.
