On June 21, 2010, a crazy thought popped into the mind of a lifelong Milwaukee Brewers fan: "Rooting for this team is painful. Hoping for a .500 season is brutal. The days of following a pennant race seem long gone. Let's bring those days back."

On June 22,2010, the first tweet was sent from @TweetsFrom1982 on Twitter.

TweetsFrom1982: Today vs NYA: Molly 5, Robin 6, Coop 3, Simmons 2, Oglivie 7, Gorman 8, Howell DH, Romero 4, Edwards 9, Vuke SP #TweetsFrom1982

Suddenly, it was a whole new ballgame.

In the following days and weeks, TweetsFrom1982 took form and took off. It became more than just a regurgitation of historical facts. It became a nearly authentic reaction and response to events from that famed 1982 season as they happened.

Soon, Brewers Updates From 1982 was launched on Facebook.

Shortly thereafter, PastKast.com was born. PastKast.com gives you, as a sports fan, the ability to follow a team as if today is the same day in another year. Right now, you can follow the epic season of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers. Every post from Pastkast will be written in "real time" from that given year. Reactions will be based on what has happened up until that date.

The articles you read aren't dug from the 1982 archives, but written now in reaction to what happened then. It is done as authentically as possible, aiming to keep facts and reactions accurate.
