Dr. Muhammad Khalid. Consultant Paediatric Surgeon
Early life: - Born in 1969, in Sita Road (Rahmani Nagar) district Dadu, Sindh, Pakistan. He got early education from Sita Road and Khair Pur Nathan Shah. His parents migrated from Rajasthan province of India, at the time of division of British India.
Education and work: - Passed out as doctor (MBBS) from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur, Pakistan in year 1993. He worked in different hospitals in Karachi, got training of pediatric surgery from National institute of child health (NICH) Karachi and passed FCPS (Fellow of college of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan in Paediatric surgery) in 2003. After fellowship in pediatric surgery he worked for two years in Karachi and later moved to Saudi Arabia, where he worked for seven years. He passed MRCS (Member of Royal College of surgeons, Edinburgh, UK) in 2009. He moved to Ireland and worked there from 2012 till 2017. While staying in Ireland, he achieved diploma in minimal access surgery (Laparoscopy) from Strasbourg, France in 2013 and also passed European Board of Pediatric Surgery in 2015. He was awarded FACS (Fellow of American College of Surgeons) in 2015. In end of 2017 he came back to Saudi Arabia and joined King Fahad Hospital, Al Baha as consultant Pediatric surgeon. Here he is performing all sorts of emergency and elective paediatric surgery.
Academic work:- Dr. Khalid has written two books on pediatric surgery, both published in end of 2018 by Partridge publishers Singapore. One is “Multiple Choice Questions in Paediatric Surgery and the other is Atlas of Paediatric Surgery with MCQs in Pediatric surgery”.
Special interest: - Dr. Khalid has special interest in Neonatal Surgery as well as teaching and training of junior doctors.
Political affiliation: - Registered member of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in overseas group and consider Imran Khan to bring change in Pakistan.
Charity work:- He had arranged and financially supported one free clinic in his home town (Sita road), in 2006, for poor people that worked for seven years. He collected donation from friends of Saudi Arabia for flood affected people of Sindh and South Punjab in 2010.
Ambition: -
To play a role in changing health care system in Pakistan.
To make a nonprofit based children hospital in, Pakistan.
To write a text book of Pediatric surgery.
