I'm a software engineer, currently living in Rochester, New York. I have a Bachelors Degree in Pure Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
I was, at one point, the FAQ-keeper for the Usenet newsgroup rec.puzzles, and maintain a love for recreational puzzles of all sorts. In the summer of 1988, I invented the puzzle game known as Rare Entries and introduced them to a broader Usenet population in 1996. I am also a regular participant in the U.S. qualifiers of the World Puzzle Championship and was a grader for the event in 2000.
My mathematical interests include formal logic, graph theory, and combinatorial game theory. Other intellectual pursuits include classical cryptography and mathematical philosophy.
