Life Up To Now

Kitty was born Ambrielle Heather Howell, in Baltimore, Maryland in 1986, her first name being a mis-spelling of the name of a book character by the name "Amberle" that her biological father was enamored with. Her mother corrected it into something as presentable as possible and until the age of 15 was simply called Amber by others, a name she never liked. She picked up the nick-name "Kitty-Kins" in high school due to her cat-like grace when moving and because her disproportionate body type resembled closely every anime woman ever drawn, but especially cat-women - or "nekos". She found out shortly after being given this nick-name her mother had wanted to name her Veronica Katherine, due to her high school french classes where there was no translation for the name Rebecca and she was called Veronique, the french form of Veronica. Kitty later legally changed her name to Veronica Katherine Bucher, taking her mother's maiden name for a last name due to her complete lack of contact with her biological father since the age of 8.

Her stepfather, Sean, entered her life when she was 5, although she did not begin to call him "daddy" until she was close to 12 years old. Her mother and stepfather split apart when she was 18, but he remains a constant and close figure in her life and she attributes all fatherly guidance in her life to him.

She and her husband Stephen met in early 2006 at a local Raleigh, North Carolina nightclub known as Legends but would not begin dating until January 8th of 2011. He proposed to her on her birthday that same year and they began planning a pirate wedding to take place at Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina ith red and gold as the color theme to honor his Taiwanese heritage while having their whimsically themed wedding. Kitty claimed that a wedding should be memorable yes, but that pomp and circumstance were over-rated and fun at a wedding would be far better. Their close friends proved this shortly after Stephen's proposal by incorporating jokes into the vow and general theme of their wedding.

Shortly after they began dating, Stephen's wood-working was incorporated into the web-based business that Kitty and her mother had started to sell Kitty's art, jewelry and hand-drawn tarot cards, as well as her mother's leather work and traditional Native American jewelry. The business was named "Windy Nights Creative Emporium" using Windy Nights as the proper name created by combining aspects from both Kitty and her mother's proper Native American names - Raven Stormwind and Night Wind Woman respectively.

In late 2012 Kitty and Stephen began an indiegogo page for the purpose of buying a building to turn the web-based business into a bookstore, which was always the primary goal of the project, and would be selling both art from local North Carolina artists and spiritual goods such as herbs, tarot decks and spiritual books.

Career

Kitty began writing at the age of 12 via the internet and long distance friends, creating on-going role plays with them, many of which are still on going. However, over such a long period, the characters have grown substantially and one of the most well known and recognizable from Kitty's own artwork has become the primary focus of a four-part book series set in her local home of Raleigh, North Carolina in which women born with dragon blood - called Xianites, after the nickname for the Celestial Dreamkeeper and Mother of all Dragons, Xhiana, or Xian - are trained and dispatched to varying regions of the world to fight evil in the form of corrupted dragons and other beings from Hell.

The name of the series is The Xianite Sisterhood, but each book has a title unto itself, as each revolves around a separate member the particular "brood" of Xianites she writes about. Each individual title has an elemental aspect, as does any Xianite, based on the elemental alignment of the sister the story is focused on.
