Hello, I am Lotorous.[a] I have been sparsely editing on Wikipedia since around 2015 under temporary and long-dormant accounts which I no longer have access to. Despite this, I am not fully-versed on all of Wikipedia's technicalities, formatting-wise and rules-wise, and thus am prone to making mistakes. Please inform me if I do something incorrectly on my talk page, thank you.
I am particularly interested in music, especially alternative music genres such as shoegaze, alternative rock and indie rock. But also electronic music genres such as braindance and ambient music. Some of my favourite artists are Radiohead, Slowdive, The Smiths, Aphex Twin, Candy Claws, Sweet Trip, Boards of Canada, Autechre, Stars of the Lid and many others. I try to listen to a wide variety of music, including mainstream genres too. All music tastes are valid.
I am interested in periods of history such as the Late Roman Republic, the Bronze Age Collapse and Classical Greece. I am a student of Classics and sometimes use Wikisource for English translations of primary sources.
I also have a long-enduring interest in civilian ships since I was a child. Especially the works of the White Star Line and Cunard in the early 20th-century, such as the RMS Lusitania, RMS Mauretania and the Olympic-class ocean liners.
My main motivation for editing on Wikipedia over the years has been to correct information on areas local to me, I find that many places in Leicestershire lack significant information, and I would like to improve on the state of things. I have also formerly lived in Bologna, Italy, though I am not confident enough to write articles in Italian, so I cannot be of aid in that regard.
