History
Legend Zero was founded in the year 2003 by Micheal Cassic, originally meant to display Micheal's literary works, which included L. Force and Alshakar Apocalypse, among others. In the January of 2004, several new staff members are introduced as the website slowly expands, with two of Cassic's stories breaking the 10,000 download mark. The website remained firmly rooted in literature and the Trading Card Game Yu-Gi-Oh! for some time. Popularity began to increase with the anouncement of the "LZ Throwdown", a challenge in which a person challenged several "Throwdown Champs" to earn a place in the Legend Zero Hall of Fame.
As the popularity of the website increased, Legend Zero adopted the tag-line "Legend Zero: Life Defined." Legend Zero produced it's first video, "Legend Zero: Behind the Scenes," which featured Micheal Cassic (Legend0922), Kevin (Imperator), and Matt Brasavage (Vash the Stampede). The video described the trio's hopes and dreams for Legend Zero, and what they would like to accomplish by a year from then.
Shortly following the introduction of a VIP program, which featured exclusive forum access and a VIP exclusive story written by Midnightblues, Legend Zero welcomed three new Staff members, Midnightblues, Kirby Zero, and Bandalf1224 (Brian Deighton), although at the same time two staff members had to bow out. The VIP problem failed to gain momentum, and was shortly discontinued. Soon following, the H4ck3rs_ Trading Card Game was announced, and H4ck3rs_ Virtual Desktop was released to the general public, which allowed players to play against each other over the internet using the first card set released, the "Core" set. The game slowly gained momentum, but failed to make a large impact.
Dropping the "Life Defined" tag-line, Legend Zero welcomed Sbigmang23 to it's ranks. Legend Zero then created it's first, no longer active, Youtube channel, LZstaff. It was at this point that Legend Zero divided into two sections, Legend Zero Entertainment, and Legend Zero Productions. Micheal Cassic took the position of CEO of Legend Zero Productions. Project ORION is released on Legend Zero's youtube channel on 5/16/08, and it's fourth aired episode is featured on Bungie's (the creator of Halo 3, the game used in the production of Project ORION) website after the first episode reaches 1000 views within the first hour.
Legend Zero welcomes the first member of it's partner program, Delta Pictures. Legend Zero Entertainment and Legend Zero Productions unite into one company, Legend Zero.
The Keeper, a mysterious member of the Legend Zero forums, begins posting cryptic messages in a form of "Leet Speek", declaring himself the new ruler of Legend Zero with a "quest" to find the 1000 champions. Amidst the chaos, Machshot1337 (Kevin Archer) is admitted as a new staff member and the machinimator for Legend Zero's newest project, Flag Campers. The Keeper is then revealed to be a publicity stunt for Legend Zero's newest endeavor, their very own video game, Legend Zero Online, a turn based RPG uniting the story-lines from Legend Zero's many literary publications.
Legend Zero brings in Rancor'd Type and Krypton Games as two new partners in late 2008. The staff is dealt a devastating blow as their youtube channel is hacked, and deleted, by a forum member. They are, with the help of their new "bouncer", Warez, able to expel the hacker, and set up tighter security measures on the website. Two new Youtube channels are produced in response, Legend Zero Videos, and 60 Second Rants. Krypton Games becomes a full blown portion of Legend Zero as they welcome in the new year of 2009.
A flurry of new members swell Legend Zero's ranks as H4ck3rs_ and Flag Campers, a new machinima produced by the newly indited staff member Machshot and other Legend Zero members, began to rise in popularity. A shift in the focus of Legend Zero brought their custom Trading Card Game (TCG) H4ck3rs_ into the spotlight, with many leaps being made in it's production and distribution. A ranking system was organized, and a new medium for online duels was found in the form of LackeyCCG, a program which encourages designers to create custom plug-ins for card games they may have made themselves.
