Kate has gone on to perform with the Classical Opera Company in the UK and Italy and with the Raymond Gubbay Opera Company in their productions of Madam Butterfly and Tosca at the Royal Albert Hall. She gave her Royal Festival Hall debut as a soloist in 2004 in Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: Mass for Peace conducted by the composer himself with the backing of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Kate is currently working with songwriter and former band member of Curved Air’s Darryl Way on a number of songs including a host of original material. Take Me Home, Kate’s debut single was released last year to coincide with Remembrance Sunday and was followed by Without You, both written by Darryl. Take Me Home continues to be aired on oMusic, and both songs are available on iTunes.
Kate’s passion for celtic and folk crossover music comes from her proud Irish family roots and has since been influenced over the years by a number of female singers from Mary Black to Dolores Keane, Joan Baez to Eva Cassidy and Delores O’Connell to Mary Hopkin, and as a result has seen her record a number of haunting songs in this Celtic Soul genre. She is now also embarking on a series of UK dates in celebration of one of her key inspirational artists, the UK’s most appealing and reclusive folk singer Mary Hopkin.
