Fruits Basket

    My personal feelings toward this manga are in great favor of it. I've been reading the books, as of December 28th 2009, I am on book six. Well the middle of it. Anyway on the same day I started to watch the anime. It sounds really off in engilsh and some of the text is not what is should be. Like Shigure laughing at Torhu's misfortunes. Anyway the book is much better than the English anime counterpart. So if after reading this please read the manga, if you haven't already, if you have try to find the anime of it somewhere where it sounds right.

                       Characters

Torhu Honda: Torhu had a really good life and family. When she was really young her father died of some illness. It is stated in the book. Her mother died in a car accident. So when she discovers the Shoma's, and they discover her, she ends up living with them when her house is crushed by a land slide. She stays at the Shoma house that night. I can't remember whether the anime is right and she did have a fever. Anyway, during the night Yuki and his rat friends dig out her belongings which she finds in the morning.

I should tell you know that I will only tell you what happens in the first book.

Kyo: Kyo is really anger managment challenged. In the anime he street talks. It is really humiliating. He trained in the mountains for several months and hates his cousian Yuki.

Yuki: Yuki or "The Prince" is considered the most handsome boy in there high school. He digs out Torhu's belongings when she stays that first night. He is always fighting with Kyo. Actualy Yuki and Kyo fight all the time, not just in the first book.

Shigirue: The oldest of the house. He is a writer. For some reason he turns from being misterious to acting like a complete child. This is greatly shown in the anime when he laughs about Torhu living in a tent.

Akito: Not much is known about Akito, just that he is the head of the Shoma family.
