LIFE: BIRTH TO COLLEGE JOURNEY

“The future belongs to those who believes in the beauty of their dreams” Did you ever hear the name Jourlan Ben Advincula? If not yet, better browse into the net and type that name in Google.com. You can search a lot about him. That name is searchable in different social networking site and other media tools. But who is really he?

His name originated from the word “journal” which mean news letter, periodicals, or it can be also a diary. He was born in Mabilbila Sur, Santa, Ilocos Sur on November 23, 1993, between eleven and midnight, a few days before full moon and it was a Monday, his name was unintentionally misspelled to “jourlan”. He lives in the poetic town of Santa, province of Ilocos Sur, barangay Mabilbila Norte. He is the first of the four children of Bienvenido Advincula Jr. and Brendalyn Ben.

As he stated on his autobiography, he grew up in a very simple and happy but not so perfect home, ruled by his good parents. The education that he received since his earliest infancy was perhaps what has shaped his habits, like a jar that retains the odor of the body that it first held and her first teacher was his mother who is a remarkable woman of good habits character ever since and on the lap of his mother, he learned the alphabet, kind of colors, shapes, memorizing and writing poems and memorizing prayers.

He had his early education in Mabilbila Integrated School and continued his secondary education in the same school, in the year 2009, he graduated in high school. His early achievements include the Award of Outstanding Achievements in Academic Excellence, Student Leadership, Campus Journalism, Science and Technology, Technology and Entrepreneurship, Arts and Mathematics, from local to national levels. He also attends Seminars for Environment Protections and other Educational Seminars, outside and inside. Aside from being a student, he is also currently working as event organizer for some time, a designer and a young public servant in the town of Santa. But all of this, he humbly said “Anyone can make it on the top and there are still persons who are better than I, however, if you want to make your life better, it is not about fame instead work hard, help yourself, believe but trust God, thank Him and also those people behind your success and failures but don’t ever dare to trust everyone, because even your shadow leaves you and lastly, be unique but don’t asks to be perfect, as I am- I will end my taught as “DURO SER YO” a Spanish phrase which if translate it in Filipino would mean “Mahirap maging ako.”

At present, Jourlan is now preparing for the last ladder of college life, an Information Technology Student. In addition to what he said, “I have a lot of experience to be a lesson, with an teary eyes- I also failed, I have also a million problems, but what I do after is, I wake up, I face the reality and sometimes there are also problems that has no solutions instead to believe. I have many lovers same numbers of haters or more but I thank and I love them all both- they are my inspirations. I dream a lot, I aim high but I don’t want to be ahead with the future, just simply I want someday to have a better life as a citizen and employee or a boss J and not just a student and a tambay anymore and I want to learn life more. If I would be a thing, I want to become a pencil or anything that can be use in writing because I want to spend my existence meaningful, a single dot from the ink of a pen means a lot. And as an IT student I would say, it is not about computer or gadgets only, we are the agents of information and I want to be a good influence of innovations.” At this year, mega-INFO.com (Jourlan and company) will make a system for their thesis: Soberano Dormitory Record Management and Billing System. We do hope so and pray for their success. Jourlan Ben Advincula, a man with a boring bliss not a friend of many but a Kuya of anyone. God Speed!
