Jamie J. Gaitan
Jamie J. Gaitan is a retired Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Massachusetts Army National Guard with over two decades of leadership experience in operations, communications, and policy development. He has served in key advisory and executive roles at the Office of the Adjutant General and the Joint Force Headquarters at Hanscom Air Force Base, where he provided counsel on interagency coordination, emergency response, and strategic planning initiatives.
Military Career
Gaitan began his military career with the Massachusetts Army National Guard in the early 2000s. Over the course of his service, he has held leadership positions including Executive Noncommissioned Officer to the Adjutant General, Digital Media Strategist, and Marketing and Education Director for the Recruiting and Retention Battalion.
As Executive Noncommissioned Officer, he served as a principal advisor to Major General Gary Keefe on matters related to education programs, public policy, and interagency partnerships. Gaitan coordinated military support to civil authorities under Immediate Response, State Active Duty, and Title 32 authorities, contributing to operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and the National Capital Region Security Mission.
As Digital Media Strategist, he led the development of social media policies and communication plans for the Massachusetts National Guard, aligning state messaging with Department of Defense and National Guard Bureau objectives. He also created mobile communication tools and partnerships with regional organizations, including professional sports teams, to enhance community engagement.
Earlier, as Marketing and Education Director, he managed statewide marketing initiatives, public affairs coordination, and education outreach in support of recruitment and retention objectives. His leadership helped modernize the Guard’s approach to public communications and branding.
Volunteer Work
His volunteer work includes event coordination, program development, and fundraising in support of veterans, Gold Star families, and heritage initiatives. As well as a volunteer coach for multiple youth sports.
