Jaevion Nelson, is a 22 year-old youth empowerment and development enthusiast with special interest in marketing and communications (particularly new media). He holds a BSc in Management Studies (Marketing) from the University of the West Indies.
At only 22 years old, he has had numerous experiences. Jaevion, is a recipient of the Prime Minister's Youth Award for Excellence in the field of International Achievement; Oracle Eucation Foundation, ThinkQuest Winner and a Choices Outstanding Young Achiever.
In 2004 he attended the Cable & Wireless Childnet Academy after being named the Most Outstanding Student in the Go-Local 'Show Your Community to the World' Competition.
He later joined Young MDG. The team published information on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) in a youth friendly format. The team won in the Cable & Wireless Childnet Academy in 2005 and ThinkQuest Competition in 2004.
Jaevion has been a delegate, presenter and co-presenter at workshops, and has assisted in the planning and execution of many events.
Today, he continues to make waves across his island home by busily representing the voice of youth and at the same time empowering them. He considers himself to be a writer, community development practitioner, role model, motivational speaker, orator among other things.
