To be honest, I'm a stranger here myself.

I have submitted a disturbingly small number of edits - and I did not even know I had a user: page during the first several years my account existed.

My user name is a reference to Sam Vimes interaction with his pocket organizer on the Discworld.

Count Sir Terry Pratchett among my favorite authors along with Philip K. Dick, Douglas Adams, P. G. Wodehouse and Mark Twain. Not necessarily in that order.

Trained as a Molecular Biologist: BA University of California, Santa Barbara, PhD Northwestern University but now entirely lapsed into a somewhat geeky regular guy. Maybe Joe Walsh said it better, "Just an ordinary, average guy." Hmmm... How would one correctly reference a song lyric?
