The Hardy Boyz 76

The Hardyz are two of the greatest wrestlers in the WWF/WWE.

They started off with no longer existing member Lita(Amy Dumas) and called themselves Team Xtreme,using all the extreme moves they could think of. The Hardy Boyz debut was against Sho Funaki and his partner Kaientai and won by doing what was then their finishing move the Event OMEGA Legdrop. From then on The Hardyz would gain more fans. They would be contenders for the Tag Team Championships after they became managed by Michael Hayes,formerly a member of the successful tag team The Fabulous Freebirds. The Hardy Boyz would win their first ever tag team title vs. APA (Faarooq and Bradshaw)to win their first WWF World Tag Team Championship, but lost the titles back to The A.P.A. a little less than a month later at Fully Loaded 1999. They would eventually dump Hayes as their manager in August 1999, turned heel and were briefly associated with Gangrel as part of The New Brood. After winning a series of matches against the team of Edge and Christian, dubbed the "Terri Invitational Tournament", they won the services of Terri Runnels as their manager by winning the first ever tag team ladder match at No Mercy 1999 by defeating Edge and Christian. Fans were so impressed with the match that when Edge and Christian were alone in the ring, fans gave them a standing ovation. The fans also gave both teams a standing ovation the next night on RAW is WAR. They then gained notoriety as a tag team with Lita.It has been extra officially confirmed a fight between The Brothers of Destruction against the Hardy Boyz. A format will take place as a battle of both families and the one who loses will have to leave the company. At SummerSlam 2000 Team Xtreme would compete in the first ever TLC (Tables, Ladders,and Chairs) match.Even though they lost the TLC match skyrocketed them through the ranks of tag team wrestling. However, at Unforgiven 2000 The Hardy Boyz defeated Edge and Christian in a Steel cage match to win the World Tag Team Championship for a second time. They went on to lose the tag team titles back to Edge and Christian at No Mercy 2000 but won the titles back the next night on RAW for a third time. During this match, The Hardy Boyz were dressed as Los Conquistadores, but tore off their masks after the match, revealing themselves. The team would lose the titles less than a month later to Right to Censor on the November 6, 2000 edition of RAW, when Edge and Christian came out and assaulted the Hardyz, allowing Right to Censor to pick up the win and the tag team titles.

On the March 5, 2001 edition of RAW The Hardy Boyz captured their fourth World Tag Team Championship. They defeated The Dudley Boyz, after interference from Christian, only to lose the titles to Edge and Christian two weeks later on RAW. The next month at Wrestlemania X-Seven The Hardy Boyz again competed in another infamous TLC match, against Edge and Christian and The Dudley Boyz. However, just as in the first TLC match, they came up short, and again, the victors were Edge and Christian.

On October 8, 2001, The Hardy Boyz won the WCW World Tag Team Championship from Booker T and Test. They would lose the titles to The Dudley Boyz two weeks later. Soon after they would yet again beat Booker T and Test but this time for the WWF World Tag Team Championship but would lose the titles four days later, also to the Dudleys in a Steel Cage title unifaction match.

During the time they were together, they were one of the most popular tag teams, because of their TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) matches with Edge and Christian as well as The Dudley Boyz. Along with their unique "grunge"-type look that appealed to the WWF's younger fanbase. On top of the high-flying moves, they guest starred in an episode of That 70's Show in which they played two un-named wrestlers.

The team eventually split up, however, to enable both Matt and Jeff to pursue singles careers. Jeff was later fired from WWF after refusing to go to rehab after agents found out he had been taking drugs. He spent some time in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling but realized he was not getting the exposure he had hoped for. As a result, he no-showed several times, was suspended, and completed his contractual duties. In August 2006, he rejoined the WWE on its RAW brand. At Unforgiven 2006, Jeff, Matt and Lita all appeared together on television for the first time in four years, hinting at a possible Team Xtreme reunion, but before that could occur Lita insulted both brothers and left the scene with a sarcastic "We should do this again some time."

In November, it was announced on WWE.com that Matt and Jeff would team up for the first time together in over four years as members of Team DX at the Survivor Series. However, The Hardys, as they were now known, were first given a "warm up match" on ECW on Sci Fi, defeating the Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke).

On the November 27, 2006 edition of RAW, The Hardys posed an open challenge to any team for ECW December to Dismember which was immediately accepted by a reuniting MNM (Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury). After a run in on the intervening ECW on Sci Fi, The Hardys defeated MNM at the pay-per-view, but in doing so started a feud between all four men that spanned the brands. After Mercury was seriously hurt in a Fatal-4-Way Ladder Match at Armageddon vs. William Regal and Dave Taylor, Paul London and Brian Kenderick and The Hardy Boyz.Mercury began to seek revenge. They would keep trying to get revenge on Team Xtreme but it just wouldn't happen, at the Royal Rumble The Hardyz would beat them, at No Way Out (in what was supposed to be a rematch of Armageddon but wasn't because Duece & Domino the rookies complained to Teddy Long that they didn't have a title shot and got it) so instead Team Xtreme got paired with The United States Champion Chris Beniot vs. MNM and MVP in a Six man tag and won when The Hardyz gave Mercury a Poetry in Motion a Twist of Fate by Matt followed by a Swanton Bomb by Jeff a pin by Beniot, surprisingly somehow Mercury kicked out so Beniot sealed the deal by forcing Mercury to submit with the Crippler Crossface and trying to take the mask off that Mercury was still wearing because of the Ladder match incident. The Hardyz were contenders to be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 23 and Matt defeated Joey Mercury and Jeff defeated Shelton Benjamin. Imagine that both the Hardyz in a ladder match we've seen that before but what we haven't seen is both of them in a ladder match on the opposite team. The Hardy Boyz claimed to have a bit of advantage because they could work together however they did say they would fight if they have to,and they did except they only threw punches on the ladder and Jeff and Edge would be taken off on stretchers when Matt set Edge on a ladder from the ring to where the fans sit and Jeff did a legdrop off another ladder and finished both of them after Matt looked worried and called medical atendance out for Jeff , (Matt would probably call for attendance for the jerk Edge)the next night on RAW Edge came out and said to the fans that it took every ounce of energy to pull himself out of bed that morning. The Hardy Boyz would acctualy have a good night winning the World Tag Team Championships in a 10 team battle royal ( their first since 2001)
