Bielich-Pomareda, Esther, born 23 December 1865 in Lima, Peru and died in Chile on 26 August 1958. Daughter of Adriano Bielich-Mirandoli, a resident of Lima. She married Vicente Merino-Jarpa on 8 Augost 1855, a Chilean soldier she met during the Chilean occupation of Lima. Her marriage to Vicente caused her (as well as her sister Amabilia, who also married a Chilean soldier) to be considered an outcast by the Peruvian branch of the Bielich family. Decades later, her father traveled to Chile to visit and forgive both his daughters. Esther was the mother of Vicente Merino-Bielich, who became Commander-in-Chief of the Chilean Armed Forces, Minister of the Interior and Vice-president of Chile in 1946. Esther was the sister of Peruvian Navy Admiral Cesar Bielich-Pomareda.
