Hi, my name is Tim. I am 31 years old. I am from Portland, ME. Up until 2 years ago I lived in the USA, but I recently moved to the Philippines to be married here. I am now married and my wife is a Filipino. Though I have had some difficulties adjusting to the Filipino culture, I can say that I am used to it now. I am currently working here as an English tutor teaching English to Chinese students through VOIP services on the internet. I really enjoy my job as it is a lot of fun reaching out and helping people who are willing to learn English.
In 2007 I graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. I have previously worked as a undergrad in the USA as a lab technician. I also have some experience as a Nurses Aid as well. My goal in life is to become a professional teacher some day as I have found much more purpose working as a tutor than in my other previous jobs. For me teaching is more rewarding because its consists of listening, communication and giving good service which all require discipline and attention. I know it doesn't sound very profound but teaching is more than just passing on knowledge. It's about developing relationships with people and growing in knowledge and understanding. It's about taking out the time of your busy schedule and doing something that is spiritually significant and bold. It requires deep interest, much deeper than our own needs would suggest and it desires something more profound than making achievements in life. Getting achievements is great, but it doesn't really satisfy our deepest desires. In fact, it doesn't even start to solve the modern day problems in our world today. But teaching, because it requires helping and unselfishness so that needs of others are meet does help solve many of the problems of our world. Life is more than just seeking to making achievements for your own self interest so that you can prove somehow that you are better than everybody else. True value in life comes from paying attention to the needs of others and providing excellent service to them for their own personal growth. This concept is what true education is all about and in return we develop our communication, listening and speaking skills among other skills as well, which are all valuable assets for effective business. So I hope one day, as I continue on this humble path that it will cause me to come closer to the professional teaching job I want. The location I I would like to teach is in the USA because I love my country, but anywhere where English is needed in the world is okay. The path I am on right now though it is a small start and humble means, will eventually lead me to the place where I desire to go. So, that's a little information about me.
In addition to spending 50 + hours a week working as a tutor for Chinese students, and being a husband, I also enjoy reading christian material in my spare time. I work as much as I can on developing my biblical worldview, which already consists of many building block and the best foundation - the Holy Bible. I would like to discuss some more about my biblical worldview here in the future. But as for now I will end with a weekly Scripture which I will also attempt to explains its value in terms of developing a biblical worldview. I also enjoy watching TV and listening to music. Some of my favorite TV shows are Big Bang Theory and Modern family. The type of music I prefer to listen, sing and learn is christian hymns. Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy.

Weekly Scripture: Psalm 116:8 → For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. (KJV) This scripture means though we go through many troubles in life, we have one sure hope and promise we can count on. The hope we look forward to is not the good things in this world, but rather the fact the Jesus Christ has saved us from spending Eternity in hell. So this scripture is foundational to the Christian faith which states Jesus Christ has provided us eternal salivation from suffering, pain and death and is a corner stone to building of a biblical worldview.
