Emelly Velasco (born 1990) is a Mexican-Dutch artist, author, designer, and speaker based in The Hague, The Netherlands. She is the author of Emprendearte: Manual para Emprendedores y Empresarios, which was launched in 2018, and the founder of the Metaphysical Abstract Menstrual Art Movement, which debuted in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2024.
She is the daughter of Doctor Francisco Velasco and the Model and Enterprise woman Isabel Marchesini. Upon her death in 1998, she started a journal that Emelly Velasco would use to find a connection in the beyond with her mother and launch her artwork, RED ASTRAL, 11 years later.

Within this artistic narrative, we not only witness the marvelous growth and development of feminine energy, healing of masculine strength, calling for the divine expression an enchanting process of embracing and empowering both aspects. The interplay of these energies creates a harmonious equilibrium, indicative of a glorious balance that resonates with the fluidity and dynamism of the universe.
SERIES COLLECTION: "RED ASTRAL"-From blood to gold.
Honors ancient traditions, challenges stigmas, and calls for collective healing through Mayan and Aztec cultures (mixed or compared) with Christianity and Catholicism, and celebrates menstruation as a symbol of female strength, power, creativity, holiness and splendor in a modern society that needs a reminder of human values, therefore no photos or videos or the artworks directly are allowed, this exhibition is presented for the Amsterdam Archive in collaboration with the photographer Lana Prins.
Her founding of the Metaphysical Abstract Menstrual Art Movement places her as the New Frida Kahlo of our century uses art as pain healing. Emelly Velasco is not only an author and visual artist, but in a feminine way a representative of the Dutch-Mexican culture.
Her beliefs: Cultures - Tribes - Religions Syncretism and transculturalism. Nahua Civilization: Male reverence for menstruation and fertility as sacred aspects of life. Maya Civilization: The Maya's respect for feminine power and wisdom is a cultural foundation in her art. Christianity: Her Hermetic/Catholic-Christian faith particularly in the symbolic use of blood as inhibition and protection inspired by Sudario de Turín. Cihuateteoh: Women who died in childbirth and were honored as god desses, are a cultural and spiritual reference in her work. She is a writer, corporate designer, poet and Mexican-dutch painter with Central American roots, since 2009 she began her activities in the design and layout of graphic work working with different companies and entrepreneurs developing symbols, brands, and trademarks.
It wasn't until 2014 when she worked deeply on her intellectual property and passion for art that she decided to experiment with her abstract and surrealist work through expressionism taking advantage of the chromatic use, neuro divergence, feminine aesthetics, womanhood, fertility, and using basis her speech on the principle of polarity, which she knows a lot in her mind and soul, she learned in different workshops but also by the practice under advice from Painters like as Carlos Vega, Tirsso Castañeda, Marco Velázquez, Ángel Chánez, and Eduardo Picasso.
She has been a full professor in subjects such as advanced illustration, contemporary art, art history, sign, symbol, and corporate identity, at various universities in the Mexican Republic.
As writer she has EMPRENDEARTE Book publish in 2018. Also together with various artists participated in collective exhibitions. She collaborated in the RECTANGULAR art studio as a guest artist at “Open Art Studio Nights” and among other events painting in life sessions. The artist makes most of her works based on feminine aesthetics, worldview and recognition of the astral, as well as highlighting elements of power with the hierarchy of royalty, her Mayan and Aztec influence it can be notest by the folklore she represents in her palets with experimental techniques including Oil, Acrylic and gold leaf. Her work has been presented in San Salvador, El Salvador, Central America, CDMX, Veracruz and Puebla in Mexico and California, United States.
