The irish born painter, sculptor and composer Timothy Robert Dror Duncan was born in Dublin, Ireland in the year of 1972.His mother was born in Haifa,Israel; while his father was born at Lowestoft, England.Part of his childhood was spent in Co. Wicklow with the company of the cows, sheep, horses and pigs.He describes himself as a real loner,"deep in philosophical thought whether sitting at the top of a tree or looking at the ripples that were made by the water of a river flowing through two banks. He used to love fishing, and used to take sketches of the fish that he caught and also give them names despite them being dead.Despite his deep philosophical thoughts mainly centred around himself he did manage to read books about artists and in particular he loved the paintings of Salvador Dali,Picasso and the American artist, Norman Rockwell. The whole family, including his three sisters, (Heidi, Tanya and Natalie) made a move from the country to the suburbs of Dublin. At the age of seventeen,(after a short holiday in France),Tim took up painting seriously and was inspired by Yves Tanguy, and Salvador Dali.He had a small exhibition at, "Trinity College"and sold a painting to a lawyer and then another to a priest friend. His father a professor at Trinity, regarded this exhibition as a success.Later on he had a few exhibitions at ,"The Bobby Dawson Gallery" Dunlaoghaire, and that stirred up a lot of interest by art dealers and spectators alike. He met many art circles in Dublin, one notably was a circle that met in "Bewleys cafe" every friday and was headed by an unusual flute player that made his living by playing the flute for pennies on the street. There in Dublin, Tim would make a mental note of people in different poses and sketch them later in his studio from memory. He used to go to visit all the art galleries in Dublin and find inspiration, and particularly admired the paintings of Yeats. He found that "Yeats grew on him and his pallette".Later on in Tim's life he made a move to the Netherlands. He became independent there but still persisted in his creative proccesses, despite painting in the most uninspiring places. He became a member of the Hague,"Kunstkring"and in the next few years had eight exhibitions there. He also showed his sculptings and paintings in the," Anders Bekeken" gallery. The address of the gallery being ,"Wagenstraat 123,Den Haag".He was included for three years in a row at the annual "Brainwaves exhibition",sponsored by Lundbeck. Some time later he became an artist of ,"Olof"(Leiden) and currently has exhibitions round the world.
