Father Time is a 2015 short-drama film directed and Written by Dmytro Latorets. The film is based on the story "Game of life and Death", which was written by Dmytro Latorets. The film stars Scott Reid, Adam La Rosa, Jim Cairns and Albert Goikhman.

PLOT

How far would you go to save your daughter from death? Would you venture into the unknown? Would you tempt death it self? Would you give your life away?

Matthew is a great father to his daughter, a widow husband to his loving wife who passed away from Cancer. When faced with the tragic news that his daughter is facing immanent death, Matthew turned to god and waited for a miracle, when that miracle didn't come, his only thought was of his daughter, and what his wife had told him before her death. That he exists, Father Time is real. That he was the one that let her have one extra week of life. Mathew hatches a plan to drown himself, so as to meet Death and convince him to play a game of life and death.

Game of life and death:

Death,Father Time, Angel of Death, Grim Reaper, Ferryman, Ankou, Cronus or Anubis, or other names you might call him/her when you feel something behind you, when you feel that time is coming to an end. The story of Game of life and death focus mainly on the long and lonely ordeal of a man or what is left of that man’s shadow. Pater Tempus has a double meaning, although it has the sound of a name. It is also the translation of Father Time from Latin. The story starts off with an old tale. There were three drunken friends walking home one night, when they came across an old man on a rickety cart. Two of the men started shouting at the old man, and then throwing stones; when they broke the axle on his cart they ran off.

The third friend felt bad and, wanting to help the old man, found a branch to replace the broken axle, and then gave the old man his shoe-laces with which to tie it to the cart. The next morning, the two friends who were throwing stones at the old man were dead, while the one who stayed to help only had his hair turned white. Many years and generation pass him like it was nothing. Faces become empty blank moments of endless time.

As time slowly started to disappear, and from once being recognized and understood, he became myth, a fable, a horror character. Pater Tempus, was no longer Father Time, but rather the Grim Reaper. He was no longer an old man walking the earth with the sand clock telling you your time was up, but rather an empty-shell of a naked skeleton with a scythe just out looking for a kill.

Pater Tempus, tries to spend his time here on Earth, to try to understand what this new world of people live for, die for. He no longer sees a purpose in his duty. People no longer see time as precious, they just waste it on empty and selfish needs and when their time is up, there is nothing to show. That was the case until he met Susan Ramgni, a loving and caring mother who was as selfless as he ever saw. Pater saw the potential and worthiness of life for all in her.
